Graduating in 1974 with a BSc in Materials Science from Bath University, I joined Rolls Royce as a Project Engineer in their Advanced Manufacturing Department.  In 1979, I moved to Scotland, joining Halliburton Manufacturing and Services Limited as Engineering Specialist (Quality Assurance), before setting up SBC Consultants Limited in 1987.

I gained my MSc in Quality Management from Aberdeen University in 1999, am a CQI Chartered Quality Professional and an IRCA Certificated Lead Auditor.

I've provided QHSE consultancy work to, and led audits on, a wide range of organisations including oil companies, helicopter and marine operators, steel mills, manpower agencies, offshore installations and rigs, diving contractors, offshore and onshore drilling contractors, engineering and project management contractors, warehousing and logistics companies, fabricators, maintenance services, and a wide range of manufacturing and specialist service suppliers.

A Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute and Chartered Quality Professional, I've served on a number of Institute bodies and am currently Chair of the Advisory Council.  I'm a CQI Registered Senior Consultant, a Senior Member of the ASQ and a fellow of the RSA.
